HIBERNIAN ADVANCED TO the Scottish Cup final with a penalty shoot-out victory over Dundee United at Hampden Park – but they could have made life a lot easier for themselves.

Irish goalkeeper Conrad Logan proved to be the hero for Hibs as he made two fine saves in the shoot-out just a few weeks after joining the club.

After Logan’s heroics, it was down to Jason Cummings to dispatch the winning penalty and he held his nerve having fluffed his lines from the spot earlier in the day.

The striker attempted a Panenka-style dink in the first-half and it all went horribly wrong.

A pretty dour game ended scoreless after extra-time, providing the stage for Logan to pull off a string of impressive saves.

The 29-year-old from Donegal had been sidelined for 16 months through injury but now could be set to start in a Scottish Cup final against either Celtic or Rangers.
