JEFF HENDRICK WILL join Hull City tomorrow in a move worth £10m.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder is expected to have his medical on Tuesday ahead of the deal being finalised.

The 24-year-old has spent the last eight years at Derby, having joined them as a teenager from Dublin nursery St. Kevin’s Boys.

He signed his first professional contract with them in 2010 and properly began to feature in the first team the following year.

In the last number of seasons, he’s grown into a crucial member of the Rams’ first-team and his form led to a senior international call-up under Giovanni Trapattoni in 2013. He’s featured prominently since Martin O’Neill replaced the Italian as boss and was a stand-out performer at Euro 2016, starting all four of the Republic of Ireland’s games.

His performance in the tournament opener against Sweden was a particular highlight.

Ever since, he’s been linked with a move elsewhere.

Burnley were monitoring Hendrick’s closely, with Sean Dyche a big fan. But, the Clarets were unable to convince him to move and he’s now set to join David Meyler and Brian Lenihan in the Hull dressing room.

Ironically, it was Hull who beat Derby in the Championship play-offs semi-final back in May.

The club are badly in need of reinforcements with only 14 senior players at their disposal but they’ve started the season superbly given the circumstances.

They picked up maximum points from their first two games and were only denied a point against Manchester United last weekend by Marcus Rashford’s injury-time winner.
