A SUNDAY AFTERNOON clash between Torino and Atalanta wouldn’t normally command too much interest outside of Italy.
But all eyes were on the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia earlier today as Joe Hart lined out for his Serie A debut.
It didn’t go particularly well for England’s number one.
The writing was on the wall — or, to be more precise, on the teamsheet — before kick off when he was incorrectly pencilled in as “John Hart” on the official line-ups.
Hart (Joe, not John) made a good double save in the first half to keep Atalanta at bay, the game scoreless until the 53rd minute when Iago Falque put the visitors into the lead.

But it was this costly error that will leave a stain on Hart’s debut as he misjudged a corner and could only palm the ball to the back post where Andrea Masiello fired in Atalanta’s equaliser.

And he was beaten again eight minutes from time when Franck Kessie scored a penalty to give condemn Torino to their second defeat of the season.
