Champ Joey Chestnut proposes to girlfriend, eats 61 hot dogs, wins Nathan's contest

BEFORE THE Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest — an idiosyncratic American sports tradition which is televised on ESPN — in Coney Island today, Joey Chestnut proposed to his girlfriend in front of the crowd (she said yes):

Then, Chestnut — the dominant figure in this competition for some time —  proceeded to eat 61 hot dogs to win his eight consecutive Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest:
