'It's f**king bullshit': Johnny Glynn gave a gloriously frank interview after Galway's win

“Please interview Jonathan Glynn every weekend… even if Galway aren’t playing!!”

JOHNNY GLYNN PLAYED a starring role in Galway’s win over Cork — and then served up a gloriously frank interview live on TV.

Glynn scored 1-2 as the Tribesmen set an All-Ireland semi-final date against Tipperary, including a magnificent solo goal in the opening minute.

Joe Canning only managed one point from play and Glynn rubbished the suggestion that Galway are dependent on their Allstar forward.

“What’s this about Galway only having one forward?” RTÉ’s Joanne Cantwell asked him.

“It’s fucking bullshit, as you can see yourself,” an off-the-cuff Glynn said before apologising for the expletives.

“Six forwards there. Joe is probably the best forward in the game but there’s five more of us there. When you pull a bit of heat off him, you see how well he can play.”

Glynn also gave the most modest assessment of his superb goal which set Galway on the road to their 2-28 to 0-22 win after just 48 seconds.

“It was poxy enough now to be honest. I suppose when I got the first goal I just pushed on from there. It was just lucky that everything broke my way.

All I remember is that I thought I was going to get clobbered on the way.

“I threw the ball up in the air, I dunno, it was pure luck now in fairness, pure luck.

“When I started running I didn’t stop and when I got the chance on goal, I said I’d stay going.

“It opened up. In fairness, the boys around me pulled everyone out of my way and I’d clear auld run. The hard work was done by the boys running off.”

Glynn’s colourful contribution was very well received:

My word, you need to see this Jonathan Glynn goal after just 48 seconds
