Joshua and Klitschko's rematch 'pencilled in' for November

Las Vegas looks set to host the second meeting of the heavyweights, according to Eddie Hearn.

PROMOTER EDDIE HEARN expects Anthony Joshua and Wladmir Klitschko to meet again on 11 November at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

A rematch between the pair has been in the pipeline since Joshua became a unified heavyweight world champion in April by stopping Klitschko in the 11th round of a memorable battle at Wembley Stadium.

Hearn has been in Vegas recently with Joshua, and plans are in place for the 27-year-old Englishman to face the 41-year-old Ukrainian again later this year.

The Matchroom boss told Sky Sports News HQ: “I’ve been in Vegas with AJ, officially applying for my Nevada boxing licence to promote there and that went well. I met with the MGM and met with the T-Mobile Arena. Vegas is the front-runner and 11 November is the date that is pencilled in.

“It will probably take a couple of weeks to get everything over the line, but I believe Klitschko will take this fight and believe Vegas will be the one. AJ has been over there for about 10 days and has enjoyed himself and got to know the area a little bit.

“The amount of British fight fans that would travel there, it will be a momentous occasion and one that we will savour for a long time so fingers crossed it’s a party in Las Vegas on 11 November.”
