New low

Friday's back pages all carry a similar theme as pressure builds on Louis van Gaal

Is time up for the beleaguered Dutch boss?

MANCHESTER UNITED FANS last night turned on manager Louis van Gaal after the Premier League side slumped to a new low with defeat to Danish minnows FC Midtjylland.

It was another chastening, and embarrassing, evening for van Gaal as he watched his side produce an abject display in their Europa League last 32 first-leg tie.

The traveling contigent were left angered at full-time and videos on social media show supporters hurling abuse at the players as they left the field after the humbling 2-1 loss.

The calls for Ed Woodward and United’s board to sack van Gaal are growing louder and Friday’s back pages all carry a similar theme – last night signalled a new low in the manager’s tenure at Old Trafford.
