MANNY PACQUIAO SAYS he has no intention of following Floyd Mayweather Jr. into jail, as he finally broke his silence on investigations into his financial activities.

Pac-Man has seen criminal charges filed against him by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in native Philippines, but the WBO welterweight champion insisted in a press conference that it was all ‘pure and simple harassment’ by the BIR.

Speaking in Manila, Pacquiao was anxious to clarify that he has not been charged with tax evasion or fraud, as reported by the press.

He is charged with failing to present records relating to his fight contracts and endorsements. The 33-year-old contends that he was never served a subpoena to produce said documents, and therefore could not be in violation of it.

Referring to Mayweather, who recently served time for battery against ex-girlfriend, Pacquiao said: “It was even reported in the international media that I shall follow Mayweather soon in jail. I don’t have that intention. I’ll rather see him inside the ring.”
