What is Michael Phelps doing in a pair of gold Speedos at a basketball game?

The 18-time Olympic gold medallist was part of the ‘Curtain of Distraction’ last night.

YOU MAY NOT have heard of the ‘Curtain of Distraction’ but it’s one of the best things about college basketball.

Basically, when an opponent steps up to the free-throw line on the road to the Arizona State University, they will see three yellow poles and a curtain appear.

What they see when the curtain opens is anyone’s guess.

But last night they set the bar incredibly high when they had 18-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Phelps — who trains at the university — appear in his Speedos and swimming hat with some fake gold medals around his neck.

And it worked as the Oregon State shooter missed both his free-throws:
