Speculation

'No chance of Neymar joining Manchester United'

The Barcelona forward was linked with a move to Old Trafford in newspaper reports

NEYMAR’S AGENT HAS ruled out the possibility of the Barcelona forward moving to Manchester United this summer.

It was claimed on Friday that the Premier League side have made a covert approach for the Brazil international, with club CEO Ed Woodward travelling to Barcelona on several occasions in recent weeks.

But Wagner Ribeiro says there is absolutely no truth in the rumours and insists the 23-year-old will not be leaving Camp Nou.

“There’s nothing,” he told Globoesporte. “This is summer window speculation. It does not exist. He has three more years on his contract. English newspapers are very speculative. Barcelona never think about selling Neymar and he is very happy there.”

United boss Louis van Gaal, meanwhile, once again refused to comment on transfer speculation when asked about Neymar following his side’s 0-0 draw at home to Newcastle United.

Neymar returned to Barcelona training on Saturday after missing two weeks of action with a case of the mumps.
