THERE ARE FEW better ways to endear yourself to your new club’s supporters than score a last-gasp winner on your debut. Noel Hunt did just that this afternoon.
With just seven minutes remaining in Ipswich’s Championship game away at Charlton, Mick McCarthy threw Hunt into the action as a late substitute and the Irish striker duly delivered with his first goal in 22 months.
It was a fine finish as well.

Hunt had endured a barren run on-front of goal at Leeds United and signed a short-term loan contract with The Tractor Boys yesterday.
The 1-0 victory moves Ipswich up to second in the table until this afternoon, at least.
There were six Irish players in their squad for the game at the Valley with Noel’s brother, Stephen, along with strikers Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick among the starters while Conor Sammon also came off the bench.
