OBAFEMI MARTINS IS a well-travelled sort.
His time in Italy led to a couple of solid seasons with Newcastle in the Premier League before a stop-start journey that took him to Germany, Ukraine, Spain and eh, Birmingham.
But he’s found a home in Seattle, joining MLS side the Sounders in 2013 and enjoying a terrific season with them last year, in particular.
But he looks even better since the current campaign got underway in March.
He’s only played nine times so far because of injury but he returned on Sunday after a long lay-off as his team hosted Orlando in front of 40,000 at CenturyLink Field.
Last season, Martins scored the MLS Goal of the Year and chances are he’s going to retain that crown after two superb strikes in Seattle’s 4-0 victory.
If you’re a fan of that Jack Wilshere goal for Arsenal against Norwich in October 2013, then take a peek at Martins’ first.
His second one was totally different but arguably as nice! A deft chip? Oh, my!
