UNLESS YOU’VE BEEN glued to the internet all weekend, there’s a chance that some weird and wonderful sporting tidbits might have slipped through the cracks. Here’s a run-down of some of the stories you may have missed.
1. #SHAKE N’ BAKE Brad Keselowski won his first NASCAR Sprint Cup on Sunday – beating five time champions Jimmy Johnson at Homestead. His post-win interview with ESPN, which was like something straight out of Will Farrell’s comedy Talladega Nights, saw the 28-year-old admitting that he had “a little buzz going” while swigging out of a giant jug of beer.

2. #HIDDEN Here’s the strangest ice hockey goal we’ve seen in some time thanks to the Swedish second division. Djurgarden’s Alexander Wennberg skates into the net before he unknowingly scores as the puck had some found its way into his shorts before dropping out over the line.

3. #OUCH Argentina winger Horacio Agulla has a nasty clash of heads with Maxime Mermoz and comes off far worse after attempting a high tackle on the French centre in Lille. It’s not surprising that the veteran has been ruled out of the Puma’s visit to Dublin to play Ireland next weekend. Skip to 1:05 to see it in slow motion.

4. #FIREWORKS Fans of Romanian fifth division side ASU Politehnica decided it would be a good idea to let off hundreds of flares at the same time during their meeting with AS Nadrag on Sunday.

5. #DERBY DAY On the way home after a good day at the office, Arsenal schemer Santi Cazorla is spotted by a troop of Gunners supporters as he waits for the lights to turn green. The Spaniard, who scored in the 5-2 defeat of Spurs on Saturday, has become a real fans’ favourite since arriving from Malaga, as this clips shows.
