There had been massive street protests over the scandal.
Taking the oath of office, Park Geun-Hye called on the regime in North Korea to “abandon its nuclear ambitions without delay”.
North Korea’s Supreme Leader also called for a “radical turnabout” in his struggling country’s economy.
Park Geun-Hye, daughter of the country’s former military ruler, faces many challenges including an ageing population, rising welfare costs and North Korea.
