Aki, McCloskey and Gilroy in the running for Pro12 try of the season

Dave Kearney and Matt Healy have also been nominated.

BUNDEE AKI, STUART McCloskey, Craig Gilroy, Dave Kearney and Matt Healy are all in the running for the Guinness Pro12 try of the season award.

League organisers confirmed the nominees today and opened a public vote for the award.

Aki’s superb score during Connacht’s historic win over Munster at Thomond Park in November is among the excellent efforts picked out, while Ireland centre McCloskey’s try against the Ospreys and Gilroy’s solo run versus Treviso are also highlighted.

Leinster man Kearney’s finish of a Johnny Sexton cross-field kick against the Ospreys has been nominated too, while Matt Healy’s 40-metre dash against Zebre has also been selected.

Matt Scott of Edinburgh and Glasgow pair Tommy Seymour and Stuart Hogg are the other nominees.
