ANOTHER IMPORTANT EVENING for Irish MMA lies ahead, with two Dubliners competing on the second largest event in UFC history.

Taking place at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, where a crowd of 28,000 is expected, Neil Seery and Paul Redmond will be aiming to continue the Irish takeover.

Unlike last weekend’s all-nighter for McGregor, Parke, Pendred and Holohan at UFC Boston, the Irish lads will be in the Octagon at a far more reasonable hour tonight. Seery and Redmond should be done and dusted in time for Match of the Day.

Neil Seery features in the opening bout on tonight’s card, and the only place to watch it live is on Fight Pass, the UFC’s online broadcast platform. Paul Redmond will be in action in the first fight on the televised prelims, which you can check out live on BT Sport 1.

Accessing BT Sport 1 in Ireland requires a subscription to Setanta Sports, details of which you can find here. For Fight Pass, a monthly subscription will cost you €7.99 per month, but you can opt to start a free seven-day trial to give you access for tonight. If you don’t wish to continue that subscription, you can cancel at any time. Click here to get UFC Fight Pass.

Tonight! The Fight Pass broadcast starts at 9pm (Irish time), and Neil Seery is first up. Then it’s over to BT Sport 1 at 10pm for the televised prelims, which begin with Paul Redmond’s UFC debut.

It’s UFC Fight Night Stockholm, headlined by the clash of light-heavyweight contenders Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Johnson. But all Irish eyes will be on the prelims. Neil Seery looks for his second UFC win when he takes on US flyweight Chris Beal, and Paul Redmond will be hoping for a successful debut for the promotion against undefeated American featherweight Mirsad Bektic. Details of the full card can be found by clicking here.

There are repeats tomorrow (Sunday) night on BT Sport 1 at 10.30pm, and on Monday night for terrestrial TV viewers on 3e at 10pm.

‘I only started this because I was a fat kid trying to lose a bit of weight’
