First Suarez and now Pepe Reina says it'd be 'difficult to reject Barcelona'

Brendan Rodgers needs to have a word.

LIVERPOOL GOALKEEPER Pepe Reina insists he is happy to remain at Anfield, but admits it would be tricky to reject advances from Barcelona.

Reina had been linked with a switch to the Spanish champions in light of Victor Valdes’ expected departure in the close-season, but the 30-year-old says he is happy at Anfield and also insists there has not yet been any offer.

After working his way through the ranks in Catalunya, Reina made 49 appearances for Barca between 2000-02 before ending up at Liverpool, following a spell with Villarreal.

He said: “It is difficult to say no to a great club like Barcelona. That is talking hypothetically and should not be done. At the moment I have the option to remain at Liverpool, and nothing more.

“Anything else is just talking for talk’s sake because nobody has sat down to negotiate anything, nor has there been direct contact. It is difficult to leave Liverpool – it would have to be to improve, to grow, and at this moment it is very difficult to improve on what I have.

“I am not sure if Barcelona are interested in me. I do not know if they have been in contact with my agent. If he has not told me it is because there is nothing serious on the table.

The quotes from the Anfield favourite come hours after Luis Suarez blasted the British media and hinted heavily at a Real Madrid move.
