Panama's Rolanda Bell went head-first into the water during the steeplechase earlier

But she picked herself up, dusted herself down and made it through the rest of the race.

ROLANDA BELL WON’T forget her experience at this year’s World Athletics Championship in a hurry.

Going in Heat 3 of the 3000m steeplechase, the Panamanian athlete misjudged a jump and went headfirst into the water, with Ireland’s Kerry O’Flaherty narrowly missing the drama having scaled the obstacle moments earlier.

The 27-year-old brushed off the incident and continued though she finished in last place, 20 seconds behind the winner.

Fair play to Bell for the way in which she gets up, dusts herself down and pushes hard until the end. As the video shows, it was a tough fall and bound to have hurt.
