EARLIER THIS MORNING, Manchester United confirmed that they had agreed a fee with Everton to sign Romelu Lukaku, with a medical and personal terms still to be completed.
This confirmation arrived in spite of Chelsea matching United’s bid for the Belgian striker last night. Wayne Rooney is set to go the other way and rejoin his boyhood club, with confirmation of his own move expected tomorrow per Jim White of Sky Sports and Talksport.
But despite Lukaku’s own move to Old Trafford remaining uncomplete for now, a cameo appearance by the 24-year-old in Paul Pogba’s latest Instagram post would suggest his mind has been made up, and he’s confident that he’ll don United red in the near future.
The soon-to-be teammates are on holiday together in Los Angeles (where Lukaku was reportedly arrested last week for throwing what TMZ described as “a rager” in his rental home), and conspired to offer further clarity on Lukaku’s future with typical scallywaggery.
Speaking in their native French, Lukaku tells Pogba, “Rendez-vous demain à l’entranement, which translates to English as “See you tomorrow at training.” The caption to Pogba’s post includes the hashtag “bienvenue,” or “welcome.” Pogba also describes himself as ‘Agent P’.
Lukaku will reunite with his former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
