Rovers-UCD game called off due to bad weather

The match looks set to take place tomorrow at 7.05pm instead, provided the playing surface at the Belfield Bowl improves.

SHAMROCK ROVERS’ POTENTIAL title decider, which was due to take place against UCD later today, has been called off, the club’s official website has confirmed.

Rovers would have had the opportunity to secure the Airtricity League title with a win had the game gone ahead.

However, following a pitch inspection at 4.30pm, the Belfield Bowl surface was deemed unplayable as a result of the torrential rain that’s been occurring throughout the day in Dublin.

The fixture has been rescheduled for tomorrow at 7.05pm, provided the conditions at the ground improve.

It has also been confirmed that the game will be shown live on RTÉ should it go ahead.

All tickets bought for today’s game will still be valid when it does take place.
