BOTH PADRAIG HARRINGTON and Shane Lowry have lost their US PGA Tour cards after disappointing second rounds saw the pair fail to make the cut at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro.

Failing to make the weekend, both will now n0-longer be able to break into the top 125 places in the FedEx Cup standings.

Lowry impressed during last weekend’s US PGA Championship, giving him hope of securing his card again for 2019 if he managed to secure a top eight finish.

However a second consecutive round 69 on Friday meant he finished a stroke outside the three under par cut mark.

Harrington shot a first round 69, following that up with 73 yesterday, seeing him finish on a disappointing two over par.

Seamus Power, ranked 123rd in the FedEx standings, faces an anxious wait to see if he will secure his own PGA Tour card for next year following a final round 69.

The Waterford native also missed the cut on three over par and now faces a nervous wait to see if can remain within the top 125.

Graeme McDowell was the sole Irish golfer to make the weekend cut at Greensboro. The 39-year-old managed a second round 67, featuring five birdies and two bogeys, which saw him move to three under par.
