DCU and UL lead the way in the Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Teams of the Year

The 2015 Rising Stars teams were announced on Wednesday afternoon.

SIGERSON CUP WINNERS DCU and Fitzgibbon champions UL dominate the 2015 Rising Stars teams, which were announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Six DCU players are included on the football team for their part in the campaign which finished with a dramatic extra-time win against holders UCC in the Mardyke.

Goalkeeper Tadhg Lowe is joined by Colm Begley, Conor Moynagh, Steven O’Brien, Mickey Quinn and Enda Smith.

Runners-up UCC have five representatives including Kerry trio Jack McGuire, David Culhane and Conor Cox.

Fitzgibbon champions UL make up almost half of the hurling team, filling seven of the 15 places.

Tipp quartet Paul Maher, Brian Stapleton, Jason Forde and Tommy Heffernan are joined by Kilkenny’s Brian Troy and Clare senior stars David McInerney and Tony Kelly.

Runners-up WIT have five representatives.

The players will be honoured at a function in Croke Park next week on 28 April.
