PAUL MCSHANE’S FUTURE at Hull appears to be in doubt following comments by manager Steve Bruce.

The club’s longest-serving player last week retweeted a number of messages from fans urging the club not to sell him, while he also mentioned that he would be training with the under-21s on Friday.

Following’s Hull’s 1-0 loss to Swansea at the weekend, Bruce did little to allay the suspicion that the Wicklow native’s days at the club were numbered.

When asked about the defender’s recent behaviour and suggestions he was leaving the club, the 53-year-old coach told reporters:

“I could go to Twitter and tell you the reason why he’s with the Under-21s but maybe Paul can enlighten you.

“I’ll never go to the media or to Twitter on things which remain in-house. But maybe he’ll go on Twitter and tell the real reason why, then you’ll all know.”

The 28-year-old Ireland international last played for the club during their 1-0 defeat against Burnley at the beginning of November, and he now could be set to join fellow outcast Hatem Ben Arfa out the exit door in January.
