The Morning Score: Tuesday
A quick recap to catch you up on Tuesday’s sporting headlines, following another busy day of Premier League football…

1. #PREMIER LEAGUE Another busy day in the top flight. Joey Barton did his best Joey Barton impression by getting sent off for a headbutt on Bradley Johnson of Norwich, before denying any wrongdoing, while Frank Lampard came to Chelsea’s rescue with a late winner against Wolves. Normal service resumed for Blackburn, while Arsenal were left to rue the sending off of Johan Djourou.

2. #ROONEY The Manchester United striker was back in training and expected to feature against Newcastle, having been fined for a poor performance in training – along with Darron Gibson and Jonny Evans – before the defeat to Blackburn.

3. #TIGER WOODS The former world number one feels that he is getting back to his best after an injury ravaged year, and that his win at the recent Chevron World Challenge will spur him on to great things in 2012.

4. #DARTS Adrian Lewis beat Andy Hamilton 7-3 to retain the PDC World Darts Championship yesterday. Speaking after his victory, Lewis said: “It’s not quite sunk in yet. I take everything on the chin and have a busy year ahead. This is (title) number two and I’ll have a lot more.”

5. #CONNACHT Following their narrow loss to Leinster on New Year’s Day, Connacht suffered a further blow yesterday after it was announced that both Brian Tuohy and Johnny O’Connor suffered long-term injuries during the game. It was confirmed that Tuohy broke his leg, while O’Connor will likely require surgery after suffering a fractured cheekbone.
