LIVERPOOL DEFENDER MAMADOU Sakho is out-of-favour under Jurgen Klopp and Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce would like to bring the French international to Selhurst Park on loan — although the Reds want to offload him on a permanent basis.

David Moyes has revealed that Robbie Brady turned down the opportunity to leave Norwich City for Sunderland, but Ireland’s Euro 2016 hero is still in line to join Burnley later today.

Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic is on the verge of joining Zenit St Petersburg on a free transfer after nine trophy-laden years with the Blues.

Ireland-eligible striker Scott Hogan is hoping for a move away from Brentford before tonight and Aston Villa appear to be the front-runners for his signature now with West Ham reportedly pulling out of the race.

Leonardo Ulloa says he will never play for Leicester City again after saying that he has been “betrayed” by manager Claudio Ranieri and “let down by the club”. The Argentine striker has only started one league game this term and hopes to leave before the window closes.

In-demand Genk winger Leon Bailey has opted to switch to Bayer Leverkusen for around £11.5 million (€13.4m).

Retro Deal of the Day: Benjamin Mwaruwari (Portsmouth to Manchester City)

Sven-Goran Eriksson was feeling the pressure as Manchester City boss on the final day of the 2008 January transfer window and opted for a panic buy to bring Benjani Mwaruwari to the Etihad from Portsmouth.

The Zimbabwean striker had showed a decent strike rate under Harry Redknapp (19 goals in 70 Premier League matches) since arriving from Auxerre in 2006, and although City actually tried to pull out of the deal (worth an initial £3.87m rising to £7.6m), Portsmouth called up the Premier League to confirm it had gone through before the window shut.

As Redknapp recently explained on BT Sport, “Benjy” wasn’t too happy about leaving the south coast.
