Super Bowl-winning NFL player found dead at 27

Tyler Sash was discovered in his home on Tuesday.

SUPER BOWL-WINNING former New York Giants player Tyler Sash was found dead at his home early Tuesday, multiple US media reports said.

Foul play was not suspected in the death of the 27-year-old safety, police were quoted as saying.

Sash rose to prominence playing college football for Iowa before joining the Giants in the sixth round of the draft in 2011.

He later won a Super Bowl ring with the Giants.

Former Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz paid tribute to the player in a statement.

“We are all very saddened to hear about the untimely loss of Tyler,” Ferentz said.

“It is always so difficult when it involves someone this young.

“Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to Tyler’s family during his extremely difficult time — and we want them to know they are not alone in this.”

Former Giants team mates took to Twitter to express sadness at Sash’s death.
