The Waterford native is showing some encouraging form ahead of Euro 2016.

IT WAS A good night for Irish striker Daryl Murphy, as his two goals helped Ipswich beat Blackburn 2-0 this evening.

Murphy, who turns 33 today, gave his side the lead with a penalty on 67 minutes.

The Ireland international then made the game safe with three minutes of normal time remaining, firing home superbly from the edge of the area.

Mick McCarthy’s side are one point off the playoff spots following the victory in eighth position.

Irish players Jonathan Douglas and Kevin Foley were also involved for the Tractor Boys, while Shane Duffy and Daragh Lenihan featured for Blackburn.
