WITH AN IRISH team guaranteed to win the Heineken Cup on Saturday, Connacht know that they can ride back into the competition on the coat-tails of either Ulster or Leinster once again.
This season, Connacht were stretched to breaking point by competing on two fronts and only hit a rich vein of form late in the season, well after their European involvement had ended.

In an attempt to avoid a repeat the province has announced the signing of former Leinster hooker, Jason Harris-Wright and also Galwegians’ utility back, Brian Murphy.
Both players have been handed one-year contracts with the western province.
“I’m delighted to have signed for Connacht Rugby”, said Harris-Wright, “and I’m really looking forward to being part of a great club who I believe are making huge strides both in Europe and in the domestic competition.”
The hooker, who was replaced at Leinster by Sean Cronin, will have a battle on his hands for the number two jersey as Adrian Flavin and Ethienne Reynecke could remain as front-runners for selection.
Connacht assistant coach Dan McFarland, though, heaped praise on Harris-Wright, saying:
“Since I worked with him last with Ireland U20′s team he has gained a lot of experience including RaboDirect PRO12 and Heineken Cup with Leinster. He’s a good strong, aggressive athlete and this is a great opportunity for him to develop his game even further.”
