Those are the words that replaced ‘bright, sunny and dry’ in this morning’s weather forecasts from Met Éireann. As the soon-to-be legendary heatwave of Summer 2013 officially comes to an end, Ireland should expect thunderstorms, showers and longer outbreaks of rain.

Those in Munster and Connacht will be the worst affected, but Leinster and Ulster residents may be teased with some hazy sunshine in parts before the showers develop.
