Antrim GAA postpone senior hurling final after storm warning
ANTRIM COUNTY BOARD have become the first to take decisive action ahead of this weekend’s predicted weather event with Storm Boelo arriving, by postponing Sunday’s senior hurling final to 1 November.
Winds of up to 75mph are expected in areas of the north, and with Ballycastle set to host the meeting of Cuchullains Dunloy and Ruairí Óg Cushendall, it would have made conditions dangerous.
The game will now take place on Sunday 1 November.
A statement by the county board read:
“Due to the issued weather warning and to ensure the safety and well-being of our patrons, Sunday’s Bathshack Antrim senior hurling championship final has been postponed until Sunday 1 November.
“The safety of everyone attending is our top priority. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
