MAYO COULD BE without defender Trevor Mortimer as concerns grow that the defender will not be fit in time for the All-Ireland semi-final against Kerry on Sunday.
Should Mortimer fail to recover in time for the game, it is anticipated that Lee Keegan will take his place in the half-back line.
Manager James Horan names his side later today and he is likely to keep Mortimer in reserve, given the significant doubts regarding his fitness.
His absence would represent a significant blow to Horan’s men, as the in-form Mortimer is far more experienced than Keegan. They had already been dealt a blow with the news that Peadar Gardiner was a significant doubt to start.
For Kerry, Tomás Ó Sé is set to start despite receiving a minor knock in a practice match last weekend, though Shane Enright is likely to miss out as a result of a hamstring injury.
The game begins at 3.30pm on Sunday, with Kerry the favourites to progress.
