AC Milan deny meeting with Pep Guardiola

Reports earlier this week suggested chief Adriano Galliani had met with the former Barcelona trainer and his agent to discuss a potential move.

AC MILAN HAVE insisted they have not approached Pep Guardiola to replace Massimiliano Allegri as coach.

Reports earlier this week suggested chief Adriano Galliani had met with the former Barcelona trainer and his agent to discuss a potential move.

But the 2010/11 Serie A champions have acted quickly to deny such rumours.

“AC Milan deny recently released media stories of a meeting between club officials, in particular club CEO Adriano Galliani, and Mr. Guardiola or his agent,” a statement on the club’s website reads.

Allegri’s position has come under fire following AC Milan’s disappointing start to the 201/-13 campaign, and the San Siro side supposedly see Guardiola as the perfect replacement.

The 41-year-old left Barcelona at the end of the 2011/12 campaign in order to take a one-year sabbatical, and lives in New York as he enjoys his break away from the game.
