ADNAN JANUZAJ MADE his first appearance for Manchester United since the Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge in August as he starred for the club’s U21 side last night.
The Belgium international returned to Old Trafford after an unsuccessful loan spell with Borussia Dortmund earlier this month and wasted little time in showing Louis van Gaal what he can do.
The young winger scored twice in Man United’s 4-0 win over Southampton on Monday evening with Will Keane also netting a brace at Leigh Sports Village.
Under the watchful eye of van Gaal’s assistant, Albert Stuivenberg, Januzaj opened the scoring towards the end of the first-half and then sealed victory late on.
The 20-year-old looked sharp throughout before being replaced with nine minutes remaining. Van Gaal opted to delay Januzaj’s return to allow him an extra few days training following his arrival back from Germany.
And he was clearly in the mood to prove a point and catch the attention of the United manager.
