Serious concern for Alan Judge as Irish midfielder stretchered off with nasty injury

The midfielder may now miss Euro 2016.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND international Alan Judge sustained what’s being described as a serious leg injury during Brentford’s Championship fixture against Ipswich this afternoon.

The midfielder was stretched off just eight minutes into the game at Portman Road and is now a serious doubt for Euro 2016, which begins in just two months.

Judge was treated on the pitch for several minutes and was given oxygen by paramedics before taken off towards an ambulance.

Local reporters say the 27-year-old was visibly distressed after a reckless challenge from Ipswich’s Luke Hyam, who was shown a yellow card.

Judge has scored 14 goals in the Championship this term and made his Ireland debut in the international friendly against Switzerland last month.
