Andy Moran becomes the 2nd successive Mayo player to win Footballer of the Year

Moran was presented with the award at tonight’s 2017 PwC All-Stars.

ANDY MORAN HAS been named Footballer of the Year at the PwC All-Stars tonight.

Mayo lost the All-Ireland final to Dublin by a point in September, but Moran gave some outstanding displays for his county during the summer.

It was voted on by his peers and he was presented with the award at the awards ceremony which took place at Dublin’s Convention Centre tonight.

Moran followed in the footsteps of his county teammate Lee Keegan, who won the honour last year.

The last footballer from an All-Ireland winning team to win the big prize was Jack McCaffrey in 2015.

Earlier tonight Dublin’s young star Con O’Callaghan was named Young Footballer of the Year.
