ARMAGH’S MEDIA BLACKOUT continued this morning when they pulled one of their players from a press event in Croke Park.

Orchard forward Kevin Dyas was due to speak to journalists ahead of the All-Ireland SFC Round 4 qualifier against Meath.

But after travelling to Dublin and taking part in a pre-match photoshoot with Royals skipper Kevin Reilly, Dyas was not allowed to do any interviews.

Armagh management have enforced the silent treatment since the start of June in response to what they felt was unfair media coverage of a pre-match brawl with Cavan.

A rare exception came when manager Paul Grimley spoke to Newstalk following their win against Roscommon, but made it clear that he was only doing so because the interviewer was former Armagh player Billy Joe Padden.

Three of Armagh’s players and two of Cavan’s were banned for the bust-up which took place ahead of the Ulster SFC quarter-final and both counties were fined €5,000.
