Embattled Bray Wanderers make it 6 wins out of 7

Another win for Mick Cooke’s men.

Bray Wanderers 1

Drogheda United 0

BRAY WANDERERS SCORED a dramatic late winner to continue their incredible run of form in the SSE Airtricity League with a win over Drogheda United.

The Seagulls have now won six of their last seven outings as Hugh Douglas struck late at the Carlisle Grounds on Saturday evening to hand Mick Cooke’s side another valuable three points.

For all their off-field troubles, Bray now sit sixth in the Premier Division table and are ten points clear of the relegation/promotion playoff berth.

The hosts were thoroughly deserving of the points after dominating large periods of the game but were nearly made to rue a succession of missed chances until Douglas popped up in the dying embers to head home.

Conversely, Drogheda are now winless in seven and will be nervously looking over their shoulder.

Bray Wanderers: Peter Cherrie, Hugh Douglas, Alan McNally, Niall Cooney, Michael Barker, John Sullivan, David Cassidy, Ryan McEvoy, Peter McGlynn, Graham Kelly, Chris Lyons.

Drogheda United: Michael Schlingermann, Mick Daly, Sean Thornton, Sean Breannan, Tiernan Mulvenna, Lee Duffy, Adam Whelan, Robert O’Rielly, Stephen Maher, Lloyd Buckley, Jason Marks.

Referee: Ben Connolly.
