DUBLIN’S DOCKSIDE CONVENTION centre played host to the GAA and GPA’s All-Star banquet on Friday evening, a night of award-giving and celebration that included, amongst other things, the naming of the 2011 Football All-Stars.
The fifteen-man list was dominated by names from Dublin, Kerry and Donegal, including Alan Brogan, who took home the prestigious Footballer of the Year award, All-Ireland hero Stephen Cluxton and Colm Cooper of Kerry.
Mayo’s Cillian O’Connor took home the Young Footballer of the Year award, while Michael Fennelly of Kilkenny and Dublin’s Liam Rushe were named Hurler and Young Hurler of the Year respectively.
Martin Finn of London was named the Nicky Rackard Player of the Year.
