THE DALLAS POLICE department have found that Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib shot himself in the leg in an off-season incident, according to Rebecca Lopez of WFAA_TV.
In June, Talib was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound and it was reported he was shot in an incident at a Dallas nightclub.
However, according to a report from Lopez at the time, Talib told police he was hanging out in a park when he was shot. He reportedly didn’t know who shot him, telling police he was too intoxicated to remember.
A separate report from Mike Klis of 9 News said that Talib had told friends that he shot himself. There had been speculation at the time of the shooting that he shot himself.
Now, according to Lopez, Dallas PD disproved Talib’s claim that he was shot by someone else.Michael McCann of Sports Illustrated reports that if police find Talib misled them or fired a gun while intoxicated, he could still face legal consequences.
According to Lopez, Talib could still face discipline from the NFL, which is reportedly still reviewing the incident. Talib has made a full recovery and has played all four of the Broncos regular-season games this season.
