Chelsea set to make their first major signing under Antonio Conte

€40 million-rated Michy Batshuayi has caught the eye for Belgium at Euro 2016.

MICHY BATSHUAYI IS expected to become Chelsea’s first major signing of the summer in the coming days.

The 22-year-old has impressed playing for Belgium at the Euros and has also attracted interest from Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace of late.

Sky Sports report that Batshuayi — who scored 17 goals for Marseille in Ligue 1 last season — could be given special dispensation to undergo a Chelsea medical ahead of his country’s crucial Euro 2016 quarter-final clash with Wales on Friday.

The proposed deal is believed to be worth in the region of €40 million, with the player expected to sign a five-year contract with the club.

Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has yet to officially take charge as he is busy preparing Italy for their Euro 2016 quarter-final with Germany, however the 46-year-old coach is no doubt being kept up to date on the status of the move.

Batshuayi was due to speak at a Belgian press conference today but pulled out at the request of Marseille.

The player also seemed to hint where his future lies, after following Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, club legend Didier Drogba, sponsor Adidas and the Chelsea Ladies team on Instagram recently.
