CHURCHILL DID THE Classic double at the Curragh this afternoon by winning the Irish 2,000 Guineas.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained three-year-old, who was 4/9 favourite, beat runner-up Thunder Snow (5/1) and third-placed Irishcorrespondent (7/1) on the rain-soaked course.

With Ryan Moore on board, the son of Galileo added to his triumph in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month.

“He wasn’t enjoying the ground so I tried to help him along,” Moore told the BBC. ”But when I asked him he was there. I have always rated him.”
