RECENTLY RETIRED KERRY legend Colm Cooper has taken his first steps into a TV career with the news he’ll be featuring as a pundit on RTÉ’s The Sunday Game couch this summer.
RTÉ announced this morning that the eight-time All-Star will be providing analysis during the upcoming All-Ireland SFC campaign.
Cooper, who announced his retirement from the inter-county game last month, has appeared on the programme in the past but this year he’ll be a regular fixture, alongside fellow Kerrymen Pat Spillane and Tomas Ó Sé.
The 33-year-old has been the subject of criticism from The Sunday Game in the past. Last month, Joe Brolly said the Dr Crokes forward lacked the “warrior mentality” to be considered a true great, while in 2014 Martin McHugh labelled him a “two-trick pony.”
Cooper will make an appearance on the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ One this Saturday night, alongside Kilkenny icon Henry Shefflin.
