THERE WAS CONCERN for Man City goalkeeper Ederson, as he was stretchered off during his side’s match with Liverpool today.
The incident prompted the red card of Sadio Mane, after a dangerous high challenge on the goalkeeper that left him needing treatment for several minutes before departing the field.
The decision to send Mane off prompted some debate on Sky Sports as well as on social media.
Pundits Gary Neville and Thierry Henry both felt the decision was harsh, whereas Jamie Carragher admitted that after watching several replays, he felt the officials got the decision right.

Reaction to Mane sending off telling: whether that one was a red or not, I'm pretty certain those sorts of incidents aren't *always* a red.

Why am I not surprised that ref has just ruined another game

Ultimately the game is played in real time not in slow motion. Mané did not win the ball and the keeper's been carried off needing oxygen.

Things that are not in the Laws of the Game: a) direction of eyes b) "right to go for ball". Recklessness is.
