DOMINICK CRUZ OVERCAME TJ Dillashaw to regain the bantamweight title at UFC Boston last night.
In a tight contest, scores were awarded 48-47 and 49-46 for Cruz, and 49-46 for Dillashaw.
Cruz had returned from a long-term injury setback to ultimately prevail in what was an absorbing 25-minute encounter.
Meanwhile, in a bout that would undoubtedly have been of interest to Conor McGregor given that it featured two lightweight title contenders, Eddie Alvarez upset Anthony Pettis via split decision in the co-headliner.
All judges came out with a 29-28 score, with two of them awarding the fight in Alvarez’s favour.
