Daniel Sturridge set to quit Liverpool over injury criticism - report

The England international is frustrated with questioning of his desire to play.

LIVERPOOL STRIKER DANIEL Sturridge reportedly wants to leave the club over criticism of his injury record.

The England international, who has featured just six times this season following only 19 appearances in the previous campaign, is desperate to rebuild his career and the Mirror report that he believes he may only be able to do that away from Anfield.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already admitted that patience is not his “best skill” but that, with Sturridge, he had “no other choice.”

The 26-year-old signed a five-year, £140,000 per week contract in 2014 and Liverpool’s top-four aspirations could rely on him getting fit for the remainder of the campaign.

If fit, the former Chelsea player is likely to feature in England’s attack at Euro 2016. However, as per the last 18 months of his career, the ‘if fit’ comes with a massive question mark.
