'There's so many options': Folau in no rush to settle future amid Reds rumours

The Reds are reportedly interested in poaching Israel Folau from the Waratahs, and the Australia star admits he has a decision to make.

WARATAHS AND WALLABY star Israel Folau says he has “so many options” but will not consider his future until the end of the season.

The Australia international has been linked with a move to Super Rugby rivals the Reds, but is not necessarily confined to rugby union having previously represented Queensland’s rugby league side and Greater Western Sydney in the AFL.

Folau insists he remains focused on performing for the Waratahs for the remainder of 2018, although he acknowledges that he may then have a decision to make.

“I know there’s rumours going round,” said the fullback, who has courted controversy through his pious Christian beliefs, “but not from my end in the sense that my management are taking control of that. It’s a bit of white noise in the background, nothing to worry about from my end.

There’s no timeline. I’m just going to take my time and see what’s best for me. There’s so many options I guess from my point of view, that I’ll have a look at once the season comes to an end.

“But at this stage I’m just thinking about the game at the weekend,” he said as Waratahs build up to a Super Rugby quarter-final against the Highlanders on Saturday.

Pushed on what might influence any move, Folau replied: “My family and where I’m at at this time of my career, but I’m not even thinking about it at the moment.”
