WILL ALL THE doping problems taint Rio 2016?

On today’s show, Niall Kelly joins us from Rio to discuss the athletics as it gets underway. With news emerging yesterday that a Kenyan coach was sent home for trying to pose as an athlete for a drugs test, we ask whether the long line of doping controversies will have a lasting effect on the 2016 Olympics.

We also cast an eye back on the first round of golf in 112 years, and chat to Irish team captain Paul McGinley about how they’re feeling going in to day two.

Ireland’s two rowing duos will contest the men’s and women’s lightweight double sculls finals this afternoon, with both in serious contention for results. The O’Donovan brothers character and colour has brought something refreshing to the Olympics, and we look at just why the country has fallen in love with the Skibbereen pair.

And finally, we preview the hockey team’s must-win game against Argentina later this evening.

Hotline Rings is now available in the iTunes podcast store, where you can subscribe to get the latest episodes as soon as they’re available every day.

The next episode will be on Monday, when we look back over the weekend’s action.
