TEN IRISH PEOPLE are set to brave the elements to take part in the first-ever international ice swimming championships in Russia.
The competition will kick off in Semenovskoye in Murmansk on Saturday, 20 March.
The Irish group had time for one last ice bath today before heading for Dublin airport.

They looked like they enjoyed it, to be fair.
The championships will take place in an eight-lane, man-made frozen lake with heats based on times, not age groups. Each heat will have a cut-off time of 25 minutes.
Swimmers have the option of four distances, in 0 degrees water, ranging from 25 to 1,000 metres.
The team includes five people from Dublin: Ger Kennedy, Patrick Corcoran, Barry O’Connor, Pawel Rudzinski and Alan Ryan; three people from Kerry: Nuala Moore, Francis Lynch and Alice Kelliher; Jacqueline McClelland from Newry; and Allen Evans from Wicklow.
