EVEN THE MOST casual rugby fan knew Sonny Bill Williams deserved to become the first All Black to receive a red card in 50 years last weekend for his hit on Anthony Watson.
One man, however, appeared to disagree.
That man was Jaco Peyper, the South African referee — who was acting as touch judge in the second Test of the Lions tour — did everything in his power to get the referee to downgrade it to a yellow card.
Of course, Peyper is in the bad books with Irish fans ever since he let Malakai Fekitoa away with just a yellow card for attempting to decapitate Simon Zebo in Dublin back in December.
Thankfully, Jerome Garces had the good sense to ignore his advice last weekend but, ahead of the third Test, it got us thinking about how likely you are to be sent off by Peyper.
He’s a touch judge again this weekend and, if you think he’ll be involved in a red card, you can have a flutter here.
