IRELAND INTERNATIONAL JEFF Hendrick lasted just six minutes in Burnley’s 2-1 loss at Watford after picking up an early red card.

The Clarets were away at Vicarage Road and went down to ten men when midfielder Hendrick caught Hornets defender Jose Holebas with a two-footed tackle.

Referee Michael Oliver decided to send the former Derby Count man off and things got worse for Sean Dyche’s side four minutes later when Watford striker Troy Deeney headed home his seventh goal of the season.

On-loan AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang added what proved to be the decisive goal at the end of the first half before Ashley Barnes pulled one back from the penalty spot.

Ireland full-back Stephen Ward started for the visitors, while their new record signing Robbie Brady was brought on as a second half substitute.
